The last week in the community is the hardest for all the volunteers, saying goodbye to the place where they’ve had so many special times, so much laughter, anger and anxiety. So the cycle is coming to an end and it’s time to say goodbye to the people you now care about.
It’s time to say good bye to the people in La Sabanita whom you’ve served with so much love and enthusiasm. One of these people is Doña Martha del Carmen López from Los Romero, who said she felt grateful and happy, since hers was one of the families selected for the vegetable patch project. With a big smile on her face she thanked us, but it’s us who are grateful to have met her, to have been of service in her community and to have been able to help her in her home. Undoubtedly we will miss her kindness – and one of her pets, an adorable dog called ‘Captain’, who always came to greet us as though we were members of the family.
In Los Calero, too, it’s time to say goodbye to a lot of lovely people. One of these people is Doña Marbellí de los Ángeles. She tells us she is grateful for her vegetable patch, which turned out so pretty! She had never imagined that a project like this would be of any use to her, but now she is looking forward to tending her vegetable patch and continuing the project herself.
So there are 15 of these families to whom today we say thank you for welcoming us into their homes, for changing our lives, because this is what Progressio stands for: a change of attitude, a change in our way of life. Serving others is now unquestionably our priority, and we hope to return one day to see the lovely, friendly people who make up the community of La Sabanita – people who, without a doubt, we will never forget.

La ultima semana en la comunidad es la más difícil para todos los voluntarios, el despedirse del lugar donde han tenido tantos momentos especiales, tantas risas, enojos y preocupaciones, es así ya que el ciclo termina y toca decir adiós a las personas a las que les has tomado tanto cariño.
Toca despedirse de las personas de la comunidad “La Sabanita” a las que has servido con tanto amor y empeño, una de ellas es doña Martha del Carmen López del sector Los Romero, quien expresó sentirse agradecida y contenta, ya que fue una de las beneficiadas con un huerto familiar, con una gran sonrisa en su rostro nos dijo gracias, pero nosotros somos los que estamos agradecidos de haberla conocido, de servir en su comunidad y de poder ayudarle en su hogar, sin duda alguna extrañaremos su amabilidad y una de sus mascotas, un adorable perro llamado “Capitán”, que siempre nos recibía como otro miembro más de la familia.
En el sector Los Calero toca despedirse de mucha gente linda también, una de ellas es Doña Marbellí de los Ángeles, nos agradece lo bonito que quedó su huerto, jamás se imaginó que un proyecto como este la beneficiaria, y espera poder cuidar de su huerto y seguir adelante con este proyecto.
Así de esta manera son 15 familias a las que hoy decimos gracias por permitirnos entrar a su hogar, por cambiar nuestras vidas, porque eso es Progressio, un cambio de actitud, un cambio de vida, el servir a los demás sin duda alguna es ahora nuestra prioridad y esperamos volver a ver algún día a esa gente linda y amable de La Sabanita, que sin duda alguna jamás olvidaremos.
