The week commencing on the 18 May started with high spirits as we had the challenge to build a recycling centre for the community of La Sabanita, so that they could make better use of their rubbish and reduce contamination.
Recycling means classifying and separating into different containers in order to give it another purpose rather than just disposing of it. Moreover, rubbish not only gives the community a bad aspect, but it also causes contamination, illnesses, a bad smell and attracts animals. Recycling can also benefit the community financially through the sale of rubbish.
Building a recycling centre requires a great deal of creativity, initiative and strength. Working together, Group 2 achieved all of this and more. All the activities created a great sense of unity, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. We carried sand, dug holes and moved all the materials (including the heavy pillars!). This was very fun but tiring at the same time. However, it was very satisfisfying to be able to work on creating a place where in the future the community of La Sabanita could take their rubbish to and in this way make an income for the school, therefore hopefully improving the learning conditions and the school environment.

Empezando el Centro de Reciclaje
La semana del 18 de Mayo la empezamos muy animados ya que teníamos el reto de construir un centro de reciclaje para así ayudar a las familias a que le den otro uso a la basura para que haya menos contaminación en la comunidad La Sabanita.
El reciclaje es una forma de usar la basura al clasificarla y separarla en diferentes depósitos para darle una utilidad, un propósito, así no dará mal aspecto a la comunidad ni causara contaminación, enfermedades, mal olor, ni propagación de animales.
Otro beneficio que trae el reciclar la basura es ingresos extras, al vender los desechos. Es un gran reto el construir un centro de reciclaje ya que implica creatividad, talento y fuerza. Al trabajar el Equipo 2 todos unidos logramos eso y mucho más, la unión que resulto fue muy aprovechada para realizar actividades tales como: cargar arena, cavar hoyos, cargar todos los materiales que ocuparíamos e inclusive pilares, fue una experiencia muy divertida pero a la vez muy cansada, es de gran satisfacción de que la comunidad La Sabanita ya pronto contara con un lugar donde podrá obtener ingresos que beneficiaran a la misma, principalmente a la Escuela La Sabanita, así los estudiantes tendrán mejores condiciones para aprender más y lograr un mejor desempeño.
